This Saturday morning, Baskets, an alarming incident took place, reminding us of the dangers of home heating. A family was the victim of carbon monoxide poisoning, leading to the transport of five individuals to the hospital center in Montargis.
The circumstances of the incident
One particularly cold morning saw an intervention by the Loiret firefighters. Alerted by the situation of a family facing respiratory distress, they quickly arrived on the scene. According to initial findings, a wood stove defective would be the cause of this unfortunate episode, causing the formation of this odorless but highly toxic gas.
Emergency response
The speed of firefighters made it possible to care for the victims, who were classified as “relative emergency”. Thanks to their responsiveness, these five people were transported to the Amilly-Montargis hospital center to receive adequate care. Although their condition raised concerns, none of them were in critical condition. This event highlights the importance of rapid intervention in emergency situations.
